To See how irresponsible Governor Ajimobi is; Almost all State university in Oyo state have been locked Up; You won’t believe until U read this……

The academic staff of EACOED, Oyo held her
Congress on Thursday, 1st June 2017 to review
the state of affairs of the College as it affects
the welfare of members of the Union. // In the
meeting that lasted 3 hours, the issue of unpaid
salary took centre stage as it was extensively
discussed. Of particular attention was the non-
payment of salary arrears that have accumulated
for about for about 10 months as at 31st May
2017. Members were unequivocal in their
expression of disappointment with the state
government’s lack of Commitment to the welfare
of members of the College workforce as is being
exhibited in the continuous release of 25%
subvention/salary. Congress was unanimous in
the appreciation of the commendable efforts of
the College management in working assiduously
to generate funds in order to augment the 25%
personnel subvention released by govt monthly
within the limit of their paltry resources. It is
quite unfortunate that this is inadequate. //
Members also noted that something more potent
has to be done since all efforts to get the
audience of His Excellency the state governor
has failed. The climax of these attempts was the
yet unacknowledged open letter to His
Excellency published in the 17 May edition of
The Punch newspapers // Congress therefore
rose after taking the following decisions // That
the academic staff should proceed on an
indefinite strike with immediate effect until all
the 10 months outstanding arrears are paid. //
That, in addition to the above, govt should
commence payment of full salary to staff with
effect from February, 2017. // That no program
of the College – Regular or Part-time should be
spared from this all-embracing strike action. //
That the strike should continue untill the
demands of the payment of all outstanding
arrears and the commencement of full payment
are made. // That the larger community should
be educated on the unflinching commitment of
the academic staff to an unbroken and
qualitative education for the students at all
times. Members therefore appealed to students
to show understanding and patience especially at
this critical period. // That the larger society
should be educated on the tested patience of the
academic staff who had given more than enough
period and ultimatum for govt to show a
noteworthy commitment to alleviating our
suffering; and// That this decision became
unavoidable owing to the extent of starvation,
deprivation ailments and deaths afflicting
members of the College community as a result
of unpaid salary. // It is hoped that this decision
of ours will ginger govt to wake up to her
statutory responsibility.// signed Comrade Segun
Oyewumi (Chairman) Comrade Remi Ajagbe
